welcome to our space
HAPPY NEW YEAR! We've started a new decade, together, and with it comes new opportunities for awareness, connectedness, growth, and mind-body prosperity. Welcome to 2020, ya'll!
Steve & Kim Wright have been creating music together for 17 years, and this husband & wife duo share a beautiful soul-connection! With a musical style self-coined as "Jazz-n-Roll", a jazz approach to Soul and Rock music, their recorded material and live performances take you on a Jamband ride of sonic sounds and emotions as the two leap musical landscapes from gospel to soul to jazz to rock in a seconds notice, with a nod to folk and reggae, on a visceral yet cerebral musical playground, while stretching and twisting the songs into their special arrangements of meter changes, extended forms and improvisation; all while maintaining the groove and a cohesive voice.
DaysAhead has co-billed and/or performed with illustrious artists such as The Brand New Heavies, Al Green, Chaka Khan, Fertile Ground, Gnarles Barkley, Lalah Hathaway, Mike Phillips, Fourplay, Rachelle Farrell, George Duke and many more throughout the USA, Europe, and South Africa.
Steve and Kim's courage and comfort to ‘leap without looking’ is refreshing and “revises the spirit of the golden era of bands from the 70's & 80’s" (Michael Heyliger, Rhythmflow). The release of their 2005 debut cd Turning Point garnered rave reviews, national and international radio play, as well as award recognitions. As one reviewer puts it, “The compelling voice of Kim Wright and energetic artistry of guitarist Steve Wright (is) a near perfect marriage artistically” (Rob Young, Contemporary Jazz Magazine).
Nominated as Best Duo/Group of the year by SoulTracks Readers’ Choice Awards and Best Band & Best Album of the year by RockWired Awards, and landing at #4 and #5 on CMJ Jazz charts and #12 on JamBand charts, DaysAhead has performed their music in the USA, countries of the EU including the UK, as well as in Zimbabwe, Africa at venues such as the Intwasa Arts Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, NewYork Harborfest, Capital Jazz Festival, Bay Fest, Atlanta Jazz Festival, Capital Jazz Supercruise (Bermuda), Mobile Fest, The Velvet Note, Apache Cafe', Churchill Grounds, and 606 Club London. The band has also been featured performing live on broadcast networks including ZBC Zimbabwe TV, BET Jazz Soul Sessions, CBS Better Mornings, and TBS Storyline Soundstage.
The duo has produced music for local commercials, stage productions, consistently perform corporate and private events, festivals, community arts concerts, theaters, and clubs. Having earned their respective Masters of Music Performance degrees from London
College of Music, both Steve and Kim also work as music teachers, guest clinicians and workshop tutors for music showcases, colleges, and community music schools.
It is Steve & Kim's ambition to spread their music around the globe as performing-teaching artist musicians emphasizing improvisation and expressive freedoms.

Rockwired (Brian Lush)
"DaysAhead's sound is the combination of vocalist Kim Wright's impressive command of that indefinable voice that goes from gospel, to soul, to jazz and to rock in a seconds notice; and the dexterity of guitarist and partner-in-crime Steve Wright. Who knew such sounds, textures, and imagination could come from just six strings."
